My wife and I are buying a foreclosed home. It’s in pretty rough shape. Brown and mustard colored walls, dirty stains, sunken floors, purple bathrooms. It needs new flooring, lots of electrical work, landscape work, siding repair and a new roof.

The trick is we need to have it all done before our baby is born. The due date is March 4th so we’ve got 6 weeks!

A month and a half to fix-up the house, move in and even do up a new nursery. We’ve got our work cut out for us. It’s going to be like a podcast reality show!

I thought my many stalker-like emails, phone calls, and singing telegrams were in vain… but lo-and-behold… right out of the blue… right in the middle of my normal every-day life, I got a call from the one, the only, Obadiah from The Riot on RadioU!

I nearly pooped my pants. I did pee some.

He’s all, “Hey James, this is Obadiah,” and I didn’t respond for a while because I immediately dismissed that it was THE Obi and was trying to find out who I knew with that name.

He says he wants to guest-host a show! Can he give me some information? I don’t have a pen cause I’m in the Flashlight House of doom. He says he’ll text me later and we’ll talk.

Obi and James are texting buddies now. Be jealous.

For those of you who have no clue who this man is… The Worst of the Riot podcast comes very highly recommended. I think you’re realize very quickly that any episode of NLCast with Obi guest-hosting will be one of the ‘good’ ones. I mean, they’re all good… but you know.

Even if he never texts… it was an honor just to be nominated.

Trevor tells us a couple of stories from his not-so-sober days in the Canadian Navy. Yes… they have one of those.
